The Creative Blogger Award

On April 21st, I was nominated for The Creative Blogger Award by House of Heart. I really appreciate this! Thank you. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the original post, so I am guessing that I have to do the following:

Five facts about me

1. I wear a corset for at least four hours a day. My current and newer corsets are twenty-four inches. I am not sure if I should stop now, or go down further to twenty-two. Perhaps even twenty inches.
2. I used to play the following musical instruments – piano, drums, guitar trombone and flute. I would also read and write musical transcript.
3. I can’t stand being in a crowd or small spaces as I’m claustrophobic.
4. I am thinking about becoming a vegan. Already, I do not eat meat.
5. At the age of seventeen, I wanted to join the British Army. My mother as my guardian, would not allow it.

The Real Neat Blog Award

Now for the questions!

Q1. Tell us one thing that the world doesn’t know about part of the world you are coming from.

Gosh, you got me on this one. I don’t think there is anything the world doesn’t know about the UK and US.

Q2. If you have to choose three days sleep or three days without sleep what will be your choice?

Aaah, definitely three days sleep.

Q3. If you chose to sleep tell us why, if not then what will you be doing in those three days?

Because I really do need to catch up on my sleep. I run on empty too often. I have dark circles around my eyes!

Q4. Who is the most important person to you right now and why?

My son. He doesn’t even know he is the reason I escaped my abuser. I wanted much more for my son, a better life, and did not want him growing up thinking it was the norm to have violence in the home.

Q5. Does your blog represents who you are in real life?

Yes, I guess it does. When I am feeling down, I’ll post quotes explaining how I feel. However, I do try to make others feel good, regardless of how I am feeling.

Q6. What was the most challenging thing when you started to blog?

Opening up to the world was difficult. I didn’t think anyone would believe me. But I had to do it anyway, because I did not want to become bitter from my experiences. When writing the posts, it felt like I was re-living the nightmare life I had with my ex-husband. This was extremely difficult and painful.

Q7. Quality or quantity?

Quality.

The Liebster Award

On March 26th, I was nominated for the Liebster Award, by Lisa at Rebirth of Lisa. Many thanks for this! 🙂

As per the rules, the questions are as follows:

1. What is your favorite color?

Varies from red, green and black.

2. Why did you start your blog?

To let those in abusive relationships know about mine, know that there is a way out, know that they are not alone. Also, to help me along my own Healing Journey.

3. What is your favourite place to write?

I tend to write in bed.

4. Name your favourite person in the world and why?

My son. Because I love him dearly, and as cheeky as he is, he’s my world. As I type this, he’s saying “Mummy, mummy! Kiss and huggy!” Need I say more? ❤

5. Do you have a pet and if so what?

I don’t, but I am not ruling out a couple of kitties. I love cats.

6. Who is your favourite writer?

At the moment Ann Rule, who unfortunately passed away recently.

7. Who is your favourite singer?

I have too many to chose one! Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross… the list is endless.

8. What is your favourite ice cream flavour?

Rum and raisin.

9. If you could be anything in the world what would you be?

Invisible. Some people would be in trouble then! *Cackle* 

10. What is your super power?

Escaping and surviving abuse in a country away from my own, alone, without food or money, with a then twelve week old baby, by myself.

11. Where is you favourite place to vacation?

I do love the Far East. I would love to go back to Singapore.

The Real Neat Blog Award

On March 23rd, I was nominated for The Real Neat Blog Award, at Lauren at Lauren Says It All. Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I am unable to find the post with the rules, but I did come across another blog with a bunch of questions, so here goes…

Q1: If you could only pick one makeup product to use, for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mascara.

Q2: There’s a fire and you need to leave your room immediately, what’s the first thing you grab?

My son. If he’s at Pre-School (for example), then my mobile/cell.

Q3: What is your favourite type of pizza?

None. I am not a fan of pizza. If I had to eat one, it’d be a margherita. 

Q4: What time of day do you feel most inspired to write your blog posts?

I’m most productive between 12am-3am!

Q5: What is your favourite magazine?

I don’t have a favourite, but I do read (wait for it…) The National Enquirer from time to time. Please, go ahead and judge me. I don’t blame you! 😀

Q6: Savoury or sweet?

Sweet. I love chocolate.

Q7: Skirts or jeans?

Skirts. I run errands in jeans, but to me, nothing feels sexier than wearing a pencil skirt. I like flared/swing/full circle skirts too.

Q8: Heels or flats?

In between – kitten heels.

Your challenge is to describe your dream dinner party, complete with your dream dinner guests!

As long as there was a ridiculously large amount of champagne, that would be my dream dinner party! *Hiccup* As for my guests, they would be: Dita Von Teese, (William) Kyle Carpenter, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Morgan Freeman, and Pam Grier to start with. There are many more, but I figured you peeps don’t have the time to read the whole list!
