I saw an article about this earlier, and was lost for words. As some of you may know, my son is named after Maximus the Gladiator (https://blogofamadblackwoman.com/2017/01/09/the-story-behind-the-name/). Someone please tell me Ridley Scott is going to do the right thing and leave it be!

“Up”
I’ve had this post written for a little while now (four months!) and was meant to post it couple of weeks ago. However, I’ve not had much time to write recently, so I’ve only written a few posts, and scheduled them to post accordingly, scattered over a period of weeks
But don’t worry, I’ll be back in the swing of things shortly!
Although I my posts are scheduled to post over seven days a week such as quotes, the rest, like Real Events, Things That Make You Go Hmm, etc, are only posted Monday to Friday. I’m sure my regular followers have probably noticed this. This is because I only have a small window in which to get a lot done.
Anyway, this particular post is about a feature length animated film called “Up“. I’d never seen it before and *Steve insisted I watch it, so I did.
I must say, it did make me cry. It was a sad, but beautiful film about love (for those who have not seen it) between the two main characters Carl and Ellie. By the end of it, I definitely needed to use a whole box of tissues! And it was at that moment Steve said:
“That’s you and me. We’re going to grow old together. I’m never letting you go.”
It was one of the sweetest things he’d ever said to me. He went on to say that he’d never be with anyone else, and that he would never remarry because his heart would be too broken, and it would never heal if we ever parted.
Of course it was all bullshit, and no doubt he will continue to use these lines – just like I’m sure he does with the Chuck Norris ‘jokes’ about being the love of his life, how he’s quitting smoking, etc.
With a narcissistic sociopath, the the story, cycle, pattern or person will never change – The only thing that does, is the unsuspecting victims who believe they are the only ones the narcissist has ever said these things to.
And unfortunately, one will never know until it’s too late.
I Hate Clowns

(Image: http://www.kidzworld.com)
Random, but this is no joke. I frigging well hate clowns. They scare the crap out of me. I literally hyperventilate when I see even a picture of them and freak out, followed by a panic attack. Yes, for real! Hence the reason I have used a picture of Nemo the Clown fish. It’s the closest I could get to attaching an image. Sad but true…?
Could stem from me watching “IT” as a child when I shouldn’t have.
Either way, I want them to stay the hell away from me!
Prison Cell
An intelligent, energetic, educated woman cannot be kept in four walls – even satin–lined, diamond–studded walls – without discovering sooner or later that they are still a prison cell.
—Pearl S Buck (via itsquoted)
My (ex) husband *Steve hated this about me. And I’m glad he did, but I don’t think he was prepared for me to grass him up, because apparently, no one else had. They just walked away, or supported him… namely his family. He/they seriously underestimated me.
I am by all means, not gloating, but I am proud of my achievements. If I had met *Steve before my wonderful experiences and education, I would never have had anything to fall back on. But I do.
At sixteen, I left school with grades A-C in the following subjects: Science One, Science Two, Business Studies, Media Studies, English Language and English Literature.
At nineteen, I left college obtaining the following: Classical Music, Media Studies and Performing Arts.
At twenty-two, I obtained my Psychology & Sociology (with Politics & American Studies) Bachelor’s Degree.
At twenty-eight, I took a short Journalism course, which I passed.
I have also been fortunate to travel – a lot over the years:
Spain (Ibiza, Gibraltar, Nerja) – Portugal (Algarve) – Jamaica (twice) – Singapore – Tunisia – Finland (Helsinki five times) – Brazil (Rio De Janeiro, Salvador) – Dominican Republic – France ( twice) – Italy (Milan) – Dubai – Czech Republic (Prague) – USA (Miami, Las Vegas, Tennessee, Montana, Savannah, Atlanta) – Belgium (Brussels) – Hong Kong – China – Greece (Rhodes) – Bahamas (Nassau) – Turkey (Antalya) – Germany (five times).
My work history is extensive, ranging from office work, to acting/speaking roles in TV, Film, Commercials and Corporate Videos.
I have a lot to be grateful for. I have done so much, and no one can ever take that away from me. No matter how hard they try. 🙂
Diary Of A Mad Black Woman
Funny story… *Steve introduced me to this film. How fitting (apart from the affair part, as I left his abusing ass). Thinking about it, I may change my blog title to this, because this is exactly what I am – A MAD BLACK WOMAN! I knew writing about my kittens would open up a whole can of something, but also knew it had to be done.
{Spoiler Alert}
Watching this film for the second time, (first time was with Steve), it shows how the character Helen was always there for her husband Charles, but then he left her for another woman. He kicked his wife out of the house she looked after and kept clean for him, and moved his mistress in to take her place. He denied her a child, but had one with the other woman.
Not knowing what to do, as she had no money (even though he was rich, but had cut her off from the bank accounts), she turned to her family, feeling ashamed and hurt.
The woman whom Charles had left his wife for left him after a client almost killed him. She also wiped out his bank accounts.
Bound to a wheelchair, Helen is the only person who steps forward to help him out. She gets even with him, but through all her pain and anger, her heart softens and she takes care of him. She does find love with a man named Orlando and divorces her husband.
A beautiful woman, who got hurt, but learned to stand on her own to feet and find love again.
Maybe that will be me…
One day…
