Ridley Scott Wants a Ridiculous ‘Gladiator’ Sequel

I saw an article about this earlier, and was lost for words. As some of you may know, my son is named after Maximus the Gladiator (https://blogofamadblackwoman.com/2017/01/09/the-story-behind-the-name/). Someone please tell me Ridley Scott is going to do the right thing and leave it be!

Now We Are Free

As some may already know, my son was named after the main character in the flim Gladiator – Maximus Decimus Meridius.

Upon hearing this the other day, he said “I love this tune mummy”. He sat and listened to it in it’s entirety, concentrating on this ‘tune’.

Being a huge fan of classical music myself, meant it was another thing my son and I could share together. (The list is very long!).

This is dedicated to my own Gladiator, my son Maximus. ❤

Maximus vs. Indiana

I received a phone call yesterday, whereby I had to state my son’s full name.

As I did, it got me thinking… His father wanted me to call him Indiana after the character in Indiana Jones. I did not warm to that idea at all. I really couldn’t stand the shortened version of the name either. (Indy/Indie).

Instead, I chose Maximus after the main character in Gladiator, and there was nothing he could do about it, as I filled out the paperwork whilst in hospital.

Of course I would, but I think I went with the better name – especially for a boy.

Which name would you chose and why?
