I’ve Lost My Voice

Yes folks, I’ve lost my voice.
Master Maximus had the biggest grin across his face this morning when he realised.
I have a bad cold too. I just want to curl up and hibernate until summer.
But, I can’t, so here are a some giggles on me! 🙂

When You Think You’re a Badass

…and you think “I’m fine, I can handle this”, but you have to go from this

…to this, because the pain from your surgery became too much to bear.
I found myself at the walk-in clinic yesterday, swollen and in agony. Whether I stood or sat, the pain was awful. Thankfully I was classed as an emergency and was seen to pretty quickly. I am so grateful for the doctor I saw. She was brilliant.
The higher dosage Co-codamols work a lot better, although they make me have to eat, otherwise my stomach hurts. Not a bad thing I guess! At least I can move around more than I could before (although I must not over do it), and can just about catch up with Max and his shenanigans.
Surgery Complete

Thankfully, it went well yesterday.
Now the anaesthesia has worn off, I am experiencing some pain, but I am trying to grit my teeth and get on with it. The surgeon was not impressed with me that I had not arranged for someone to collect Max from preschool, but instead, was going to pick him up myself. I am supposed to take it easy as it will take approximately two to four weeks to heal. Thing is, I had not seen my son since 6.40 am that morning, and was missing him real bad. I told the surgeon that I was up and about just one day after I had a caesarean, so I will be fine. Besides, what he does not know, is that my ex-husband smacked me about just a few days after – so much so, I thought the stitches from the caesarean had burst. If I can survive that level of excruciating pain, I can survive this. I do understand and appreciate his concerns though.

With swollen knees, these are the fabulously fashionable (not!) socks I have to wear for two to four weeks to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Unfortunately, none of my clothing covers this amount of ugly!
Anyway, I hope everyone is OK.

Pre-Assessment
So… as well as looking after a sick Max, I went to the hospital for my pre-assessment yesterday. I will be having an operation on Wednesday (19th October).
The ECG result was fine. Hopefully, there will be no problem with my blood works.
I cannot wait for it to be over.
All I want to do is cuddle my little boy.
