Why do I Feel Like This Today?

img-thing-13

I try not to say how I feel, because I do not wish to be a bother to anyone.

I try to uplift others, because I don’t feel it is done enough, and it is my nature to do so.

I say “I’m fine” or “I’m OK” on a daily basis when I am not, because I want people to see strength in me, that in turn they will see within themselves.

I want others to reach out to me for encouragement, but I do not wish dishearten them by showing that in reality, I need to reach out to someone too. Just once in a while.

Eventually I’ll be OK, I’m sure. Just not today.

Much love to you all. ❤

Adagio For Strings

This Classical tune by Samuel Barber speaks volumes. No words, but says a lot. So beautiful, powerful, sad – all at the same time, it is a favourite of mine. *Matt took me to the BBC Proms as a surprise one evening. It was wonderful, but unfortunately, this was not played at that particular event.

This was used during the iconic scene in my favourite film of all time Platoon. The one where Sergeant Elias is betrayed by Sergeant Barnes which would ultimately be the cover for the film.

So, in a nutshell, my favourite Classical tune and my favourite Motown song were both used in my favourite film! What are the odds of that?!

(Sorry it’s the long version!).

Tracks Of My Tears

Love, love, LOVE this song. One of my favourite songs of all time. A true Motown Lover, I had quite a good collection which I never get bored of listening to. (I will have to start again after moving to the US and losing some). This era of music was soooo cool!

Over to you Smokey Robinson & The Miracles!

“Tracks Of My Tears”

People say I’m the life of the party
‘Cause I tell a joke or two
Although I might be laughing loud and hearty
Deep inside I’m blue

So take a good look at my face
You’ll see my smile looks out of place
If you look closer, it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

I need you, need you

Since you left me if you see me with another girl
Seeming like I’m having fun
Although she may be cute, she’s just a substitute
Because you’re the permanent one

So take a good look at my face
You’ll see my smile looks out of place
Yeah, look a little bit closer and it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

I need you, need you

Outside I’m masquerading
Inside my hope is fading
Just a clown ooh yeah since you put me down
My smile is my make up
I wear since my break up with you

Baby take a good look at my face
You’ll see my smile looks out of place
Yeah just look closer, it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears baby, baby baby baby

Take a good look at my face
Yeah you’ll see my smile looks out of place
Look little bit closer, it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart

Alicia Keys – beautiful and talented. I’m still asking myself… have I ever suffered from a broken heart? Not sure, but if I have without realising it, it most definitely was not with *Steve! I couldn’t wait to get away from his abuse.

“Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart”

Even if you were a million miles away
I could still feel you in my bed
Near me, touch me, feel me

And even at the bottom of the sea
I could still hear inside my head
Telling me, touch me, feel me
And all the time, you were telling me lies

So tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold on to the times that we had
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you

Have you ever tried sleeping with a broken heart?
Well, you could try sleeping in my bed
Lonely, own me, nobody ever shut it down like you

You wore the crown
You made my body feel heaven bound
Why don’t you hold me, need me?
I thought you told me you’d never leave me

Looking in the sky, I can see your face
And then I know right where I fit in
Take me, make me, you know that I’ll always be in love with you
Right till the end

So tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold on to the times that we had
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you

Anybody could’ve told you right from the start it’s ’bout to fall apart
So rather than hold on to a broken dream, I’ll just hold on to love
And I can find a way to make it, don’t hold on too tight
I’ll make it without you tonight

So tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold on to the times that we had
Tonight, I’m gonna find a way to make it without you

When I Was Your Man

Bruno Mars. What can I say? I love this guy. Sad, but a beautiful song at the same time.

“When I Was Your Man”

Same bed but it feels just
A little bit bigger now
Our song on the radio
But it don’t sound the same
When our friends talk about you
All it does is just tear me down
Cause my heart breaks a little
When I hear your name
It all just sounds like (oooooh)
Mmm too young too dumb to realize
That I

Should’ve bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should’ve gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby is dancing
But she’s dancing with another man

My pride, my ego, my needs and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never never get to clean up the mess I made
Ooh and it hunts me every time I close my eyes
It all just sounds like (oooooh)
Mmm too young too dumb to realize
That I

Should’ve bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should’ve gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby is dancing
But she’s dancing with another man

Although it hurts
I’ll be the first to say
That I was wrooooong
Oooh I know i’m probably much too late
To try and apologize for my mistakes
But I just want you to know

I hope he buys you flowers
I hope he holds your hand
Give you all his hours
When he has the chance
Take you to every party
Cause I remember how much
You loved to dance
Do all the things I should’ve done
When I was your man
Do all the things I should’ve done
When I was your man
